Firewise – National Program dedicated to wildfire risk reduction

The program teaches people how to adapt to living with wildfire and encourages neighbors to work together and take action now to prevent losses. MLCA affirms that this is an important program for our upstate communities.

MLCA hosted a Firewise workshop, which resulted in several communities signing up for the program. As of May, 2021 there are nine Firewise communities in Oconee County.
